<Julianne Moore for Talbots Spring 2011 Campaign>

Yes... go nude... as in the neutral-toned-color nude, not like " be naked" nude! Flipping through the ad campaigns for Spring 2011, you see the theme here? Nude, it's all about nude! Nude is the new black.
Spring is not officially here yet, and though the weather is warming up preeeetty slowly.  I'm already so excited about this new nude trend, it's kind of nice to take a break from the usual spring floral prints and easter pastel colors.  Now I can't wait to shed off the dark  chunky layers of winter clothes and join this  delicious "nudism".   It a color that's soft, refreshing, weightless, comfortable, and yet elegant. It brings a romantic sense to the wardrobe, and it goes with pretty much everything. I think it's time to embrace the beauty of this pure, feminine color, (and embrace my girly side).

Here are some good finds that are as pretty as the ones shown in the ad campaigns, but definitely more practical in real life. I can't wait to get my hands on them....

I Want To Thank The Academy.....

I want to thank the Academy for having the award show every year! As an actor, it gives me something to daydream about... or I should say, (positive thinking), look forward to ... The day I'm attending Oscar, who am I going to bring as my arm candy? Will I have a note for my winning speech if I got nominated?
And as a fashion lover, I want to thank the Academy for giving Hollywood another excuse to dress up in ridiculously fancy designer outfits, so we can do our oohs and ahhs as the celebs walk down the red carpet.

Here are some of the dresses that caught my attention during fall fashion week 2011, and I thought I could wear them to the red carpet, if ....., IF, I'm attending the Oscars!! Well, they have two more days to nominate me! For now, I'm just going to keep daydreaming, or at least get all dolled up with some friends for an Oscar party!

<Jason Wu>
   A slim-fitting goddess gown with the gold lace and the high slit, so delicate and exquisite... this dress is showing just the right amount of skin!

<Oscar de la Renta>
Sure it's a black dress, but with the nomadic opulence theme going on... there's nothing ordinary about this black number here.

<Monique Lhuillier>
LOVE this indigo chiffon gown,.... it would be such a princess moment to walk down the red carpet in this dress. It just looks like an Oscar winning gown to me!

<Naeem Khan>
Khan’s designs are pretty much as luxe as one can find. This dress is edged with Far-East-inspired paisley beading,... it probably adds a good twenty pounds on the gown, but when it's so stunning, I'd wear it!

<Vera Wang>
What a beautiful fluid silhouette here. The deep (I mean, real deep) V-neck, the creamy color, and the soft delicate chiffon .... It's an effortless American style of the 1930s mixed with a shot of Hollywood glamor... so dreamy and so delicious. Maybe not on the red carpet, but I love those leather gloves too.
<Ralph Lauren>
One last dress option, for my Oscar appearance.... It's a salute to Chinese Culture. Ralph Lauren is not subtle with his Chinese theme on the runway this year. It doesn't require any embroidered dragons for this rich jade green gown to stand out on the red carpet. It's sleek, it's simple, and it's straight forward.... so sexy!

NYFW 2011: Behind the Scene II: Up Close & Personal

<Backstage at Alexander Wang show>

Certain standards are different in the modeling world. I'm not a short person in the real world, but I'm definitely on the shorter end for fashion modeling. I don't really mind it though, I can always tell people I'm as tall as Kate Moss, and she's one of the biggest name in fashion, that's good enough for me.
Maybe the air is fresher up there for those 5'10 girls, but being the shorter girl in the model jungle, I do have the advantage to get a closer look at what's going on in the "lower level"-- which are mostly shoes and handbags.... or maybe that's just my excuse to pay more attention to these two categories, they are my favorites!! Either way, I'm enjoying my view here from my level!

<Clutches and daybag collection in gem tones, at DVF show>

 The whole matchy-matchy theme is back. DVF continues her handbag collection in bright new gem tones that matches with the same color coats. They were shown in new sizes,too.  I'm obsessed with the green oversized clutch, it's appropriate from day to night, no bag-change required.

<Marc by Marc Jacobs>

Very Self-explanatory, very Marc by Marc jacob. It's all about the 70's, isn't it!? Retro and fun and totally wearable!

<Proenza Schouler>

More matchy-matchy looks with the clutches and outfits.... even matching with the high strappy sandels here. The two toned leather clutch is paired with the tribal-print wool trousers, unexpectedly perfect. It'd be a great piece to add on to my collection.

<Nicolas Rodriguez>
<Rodarte>

Two designers, one message: A playful fashion version of bohemian boots-- Tall, with back lace or multi-colored woven confection. It's a little retro, a little tribal, AND a lot of fun to wear with simple, whimsical dresses.

 <Jeremy Scott>
<Jeremy Scott>
<Zero + Maria Cornejo>

Three pairs of red shoes, three different styles. But you get the idea -- Red shoes are in this Fall.

<Michael Kors>

Michael Kors is always making big statements with his accessories. The giant fir cross-body bags was definitely a big one in this show, but you can't miss these cuffs with chained wallets/clutches. They are kind of badass in a classy way, it's beyond sexy....AND practical, too. I hope Michael didn't make them just for the show. They're going right on my lust list, too!

<Alexander Wang>

Last but not Least, I found someone that's shorter than me in the model jungle, but with the fur coat and the chain bag going on, her height is not stopping her from leading the trend. She's definitely way cuter and way ahead of fashion than me.

NYFW 2011: Behind The Scene

<Backstage at Nicolas Rodriguez show>

The eventful New York City may never slow down its pace, but New York Fashion Week Fall 2011 is finally winding down.  The city has been packed with designers, photographers, models, and magazine editors (and of course lots of celebs) from around the world this past week.  You don't have to be in the fashion business to feel the excitement in the air.
I didn't get to participate any of the shows this year, but from my experiences, the most exciting moments always happen at the backstage area,  It's overwhelming, nerve wracking, and chaotic, but it's also fascinating and oh-so-glamorous to me. There's something magical in the backstage area... not sure if it's because of the anticipation building up before the show, or it's because it's packed with all the beautiful clothes and shoes and awesome make-ups (AND awesome make-up artists)! Or maybe it's because I secretly feel privileged that I get to have a taste of the newest look of the season before all the big name people in the front row. Or maybe it's because behind that long spotless runway, it takes a team of amazing talents to put all the elements of beauty and creativity together, just to translate the designers' visions and unfold a beautiful fashion story to the world.
Of course nothing beats the thrill of walking down the runway as the photogs' flashlights blind your sight, but it's all that unseen backstage magic that makes the "front-stage" so valuable and enjoyable.

Red Hot Love

I never pay too much attention on Valentine's Day.  Single or attached, I'm a believer of expressing your love everyday, not just on Valentine's day or special occasions.  For some reason, I decided to get into this big V-day spirit this year, and celebrate a little by putting together some Valentine-y pieces...(and by eating lots of heart-shape chocolates,too)!!
I'm going to do red, big bright red.  It's such a passionate color, it's hot, it's vibrant, and it screams "love" on Valentine's Day. Here are some fun items I lust for, some are pretty subtle, some are.... well... not so much! I think it's fun to pick out one or two of them, just to spice things up a little.  But if anyone wants to put all of them on all at once... hmmm,... sure... not my kind of thing, but go for it... If you're expressing your love, express it out loud, right?
Happy Valentine's Day!!
