<Sophie Holmes for Konton Fall 2010>
In the past few seasons, the denim trend went from straight leg, to skinny jeans, and now Jaggings. I can't help but wonder, how much skinnier can we go from here? Is paint-on-denim going to be next!? I'm glad to announce-- that's not the case. Since we've hit the limit on the skinniness, it's time to go the opposite direction and change things up a little. Don't worry, it's not the end of the Skinny-Jeans Era yet. The skinnies are not going anywhere (for now), but we're definitely seeing some different silhouettes coming into the mix. Flared jeans (or called Bell bottom jeans) have made the appearance on some runways last season, now they're in full swing this Spring. We're not talking about the ones we've seen in the 90's(low rise and small flare from the knee down). This is 2011, it's all about the neo-1970's style with high waisted cut, and a hem that's at least as wide as your foot. Pair them with a button-down, or a simple t-shirt and a blazer...Voila... Instant 70's chic!!
